Steel coil is a kind of steel plate, which is formed into coiled steel by hot pressing and cold pressing, also known as coil steel.Steel coils are rolled into coils, not only for the convenience of storage and transportation, but also for various processing.It has the characteristics of high strength, good plasticity and toughness. Formed steel coils are mainly hot-rolled steel coils and cold-rolled steel coils.
（1）Hot rolled coil is a processed product before billet recrystallization. It uses slab as raw material, and after heating, it is made into strip steel by rough rolling unit and finishing rolling unit.
（2）Cold-rolled coils are subsequent processing of hot-rolled coils. It is a steel strip that is directly rolled into a certain thickness with a roll at room temperature and rolled into a full coil with a winder. Compared with hot-rolled coils, cold-rolled coils have a brighter surface and a higher finish, but produce more internal stress, and are often annealed after cold-rolling.
Other coil types are galvanized, galvalume and pre-painted.
