Alloy steel is a kind of steel with high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, high strength, high toughness and added alloy elements used in various tool manufacturing. It is an iron-carbon alloy made of ordinary carbon steel and one or several alloying elements. There are many types of alloy steel material, including low alloy steel, medium alloy steel, high alloy steel, alloy structural steel, alloy tool steel and alloy spring steel, etc. During heat treatment, the addition of alloying elements can improve or improve the mechanical properties of the steel and increase the hardenability of the steel. Therefore, when the same structure is obtained, the alloy steel can choose a slower cooling medium, so the heat treatment deformation is small. Alloy steel material has the characteristics of wear resistance, high hardness, good plasticity and toughness. It is mainly used to manufacture various tools and is used in important parts in various fields. It is an important metal material used in large quantities.
High-speed steel is made from W, Mo, Cr, Co, V, and etc elements. And HSS is high alloy steel with high carbon content. Its carbon content is about 0.7%-1.65%. And the alloy content is about 10%-25%. High-speed steel is widely used in all kinds of processing cutting tools. The tools usually are a large size and the environment during the work is high cutting speed, heavy load and high working temperature. It also is used to make cold and hot work mold base with the request of high wear resistance. According to the GBT9943-2008, classify HSS under three types by material performance. For example low alloy high speed steel (HSS-L), normal high speed steel (HSS), high-performance high speed steel (HSS-E).

42CrMo4
42CrMo4 is equivalent to AISI 4140, which has high strength, high hardenability and good toughness. It has good machinability, easy polishing, small deformation during quenching, high creep strength and durable strength at high temperature. It can carry out heat treatment process, and it is already a very mature, perfect and professional process.
Large-scale equipment, tools and molds are widely used in many fields, such as forgings that require higher strength and larger quenched and tempered sections than 35CrMo steel, such as large gears for locomotive traction, supercharger transmission gears, rear Shafts, highly loaded connecting rods and spring clips can also be used for oil deep well drill pipe joints and fishing tools below 2000m, and are also suitable for integrated electrical appliances, electronic molds, plastic molds, and mold holders.
40CrNiMoA
Alloy steel material containing Mo and nickel. 40CrNiMoA is a steel with high strength, outstanding hardenability, good toughness and ductility. It is generally supplied in a quenched and tempered state, and its hardness can reach 280-320HB. It is often used for important quenched and tempered parts, such as crankshafts, gears, shafts, fasteners, molds, etc.
In addition, it can also be used to make important parts with special performance requirements after nitriding treatment.
20CrNiMo
No temper brittleness, good weldability, little tendency to form cold cracks, good machinability and cold strain plasticity. 20CrNiMo steel is equivalent to AISI 8620 steel. After carburizing, the surface has relatively high hardness, wear resistance and contact fatigue strength, and can withstand high impact loads. Used in machining gears, automotive bearings, shafts, engines, impact-resistant and wear-resistant parts, etc.
40Cr
It has good low-temperature impact toughness, hardenability and low notch sensitivity, and has good machinability. When the hardness is 174-229HB, the relative machinability is 60%. 40Cr surface quenching hardness is usually 52-60HRC. It is often used in the manufacture of oil pump rotors, sliders, medium-sized plastic molds, gears, shafts, steering knuckles for automobiles, screws, nuts, etc.
