AISI M1 High Speed Steel Properties

A600 M1 High Speed Steel Application

M1 high speed steel is mainly used in mechanical processing, tool manufacturing, mold processing, aerospace, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding, industry and other fields. M1 High Speed Steel Heat Treatment

1. Hot processing specifications
(1) The starting temperature is 1040~1150℃ and the ending temperature is 930℃.
(2) The standard annealing temperature is 820~870℃, followed by cooling in the furnace.

2. Heat treatment specifications

(1) Quenching
First, preheat M1 high-speed steel to 730~870℃, and control the quenching temperature at 1110~1130℃ (salt bath furnace) or 1110~1130℃ (box furnace or atmosphere furnace) for heating, oil cooling, air cooling or salt bath.

(2) Tempering
The tempering temperature of M1 high-speed steel is between 550 and 570°C, and it is tempered twice for 1 hour each time to eliminate the internal stress caused by quenching.
