AISI P20+Ni Steel Manufacturing Process

P20+Ni steel is a high-quality plastic mold steel with excellent performance. 1. Prepare Raw Materials

Before the smelting stage of AISI P20+Ni steel, the first step is to select suitable high-quality raw materials. 2. Smelting

In the smelting process of AISI P20+Ni steel, the raw materials that have been batched and mixed are first put into an electric arc furnace for high-temperature smelting to form molten steel. The molten steel after smelting needs to be refined and tempered. By heating and maintaining a specific temperature, common methods include vacuum treatment, redox treatment and tapping decarburization treatment. 3. Continuous Casting

According to different manufacturing needs, different casting methods can be selected, such as continuous casting, investment casting, centrifugal casting or pressure casting, etc.

In the continuous casting process of AISI P20+Ni steel, it is necessary to control the pouring temperature and cooling rate to ensure that the structure of the steel is uniform and free of defects. 4. Rolling

The P20+Ni die steel after hot rolling is cold rolled, which can further reduce the thickness and improve the flatness.

5. Heat Treatment

DIN 1.2738 / AISI P20+Ni steel undergoes high-temperature heat treatment after the rolling process, including steps of preheating, soaking and heat preservation. P20+Ni steel undergoes heat treatment, which changes the internal structure of the steel and transforms it from austenite to martensite, thereby improving its strength, wear resistance and hardness to obtain ideal structure and performance.

In the heat treatment process, by controlling the heating rate, cooling rate and temperature profile, it is ensured that the microstructure of the billet is fully adjusted in lattice and phase transformation transformation, so as to obtain the required microstructure and mechanical properties.

6. Processing and Surface Treatment

The P20+Ni tool steel after heat treatment is processed and surface treated to ensure the surface quality, shape and size of the steel. The usual processing methods are turning, polishing, grinding, pickling, milling and other processes. Surface treatments include nickel plating, spray painting, chrome plating, chemical conversion, etc. to remove surface defects and improve surface quality, corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

The purpose of this stage is to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface finish of the product while maintaining the internal properties of the steel.

7. Testing and Packaging

After processing, the quality inspection of AISI P20+Ni steel is carried out to ensure that it meets the specified standards. It mainly includes chemical analysis, metallographic analysis, dimensional measurement, mechanical performance testing, etc.

After the inspection, send the quality inspection report, video and pictures to the customer for confirmation. After confirmation, pack according to the customer’s needs, including wooden box packaging, pallet packaging, etc., to ensure that the steel will not be damaged during transportation.
